Federal Contractors to Provide Mandatory Paid Sick LeavePosted on September 9, 2015
President Obama signed an Executive Order which will require Federal Contractors to provide up to seven days per year of paid sick leave to employees. The rule will apply to contracts that are solicited or awarded starting on January 1, 2017. The EO will provide paid sick time off to employees, including those that would normally not qualify for the employer’s paid time off programs. The leave can be used for the employee’s own health reasons, the health of a family member, or to recover from domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking.
